If you create artwork or designs and are looking to start earning passive income, an Etsy store is a great way to begin. It’s easy to set up, and you are only charged for two things: publishing product listings, and a percentage of any sales you receive.
How to Create an Etsy Store

Part 1: Create your Etsy account and store
Step 1: Go to www.etsy.com and click Sign In on the top right corner.
Step 2: Click Register and fill out the fields. Then click Register at the bottom.
Step 3: Go to https://www.etsy.com/sell and click Open Your Etsy Shop.
Step 4: Fill in your shop preferences and click Save and Continue.
Step 5: Give your shop a name and check its availability. Once you have settled on an available name, click on Save and Continue.
Step 6: Add an item to your shop by uploading an image and filling out the fields. This initial listing will cost you $0.20 USD, but you can always go back to edit it later. Click Save and Continue when you are done.
Step 7: Click Save and Continue again if you do not want to add any more items for now.
Step 8: Fill out your payment information and click Save and Continue.
Step 9: Fill out your billing information and click Open Shop. (For information on Etsy’s fees, click here for US and here for CA.)
Your shop is now open for business. You can always edit it by clicking Edit Shop.
Part 2: Add Printbest™ as a production partner
Step 1: In your Etsy Shop Manager, go to Settings > Production Partners
Step 2: Click Add New Production Partner.
Step 3: Fill out the fields with the following information:
- Production partner: Printbest™
- (If you don’t you want to show our name to buyers, click the toggle and add a Descriptive title of your choice)
- Location: Markham, Ontario, Canada
- About production partner: A print on demand and dropshipping service that allows you to print and sell your designs more easily online.
- About your partnership:
- Why are you working with this partner? I don’t have the technical ability or equipment to make it entirely by myself.
- What is your role in the design process? I design everything myself.
- What is the partner’s role in the production process? They do everything for me.
Step 4: Click Save Partner.
You have now added Printbest™ as a production partner.
Part 3: Connect to Printbest™
Step 1: Click here to go to your Printbest™ dashboard and click on My Stores. If you are not logged in yet, log in by clicking on the Login button.
Step 2: Click Connect Store and choose Etsy.
Step 3: Click Allow Access.
You have now connected your Printbest™ account to your Shopify store.
Part 4: Add products
Step 1: Go to My Stores and click on Add Product for your store.
Step 2: Find the type of product you’re looking for using the collapsible side menu. Select the product that you want to add to your store.
Step 3: Click Create/Upload Design and create your design or upload your file(s). Then click Generate Preview & Add to Store on the bottom right.
Step 4: Choose the colors and sizes you’d like to offer (maximum 100 variants in total). For more information on color and size availability, click here.
Step 5: Fill out your product information and prices. For more information on Etsy product tags, click here.
Step 6: Check off Publish to your Etsy Store (Etsy listing fee applies) and click Continue.
Step 7: Review your print preview, check the confirmation box, and click Finish.
You have now added a product to your Etsy store. You can now start earning a profit!
